Sarah Jons Cognitive Hypnotherapist I Transformational Breath Trainer

My journey

Honest therapy for humans who’ve been through it. Breath included

Hi, I’m Sarah Jons – thanks for dropping in. I work full time as a therapist, and I’ve spent the last couple of decades deep in the world of breathwork, body-mind therapies and healing.

My background’s pretty broad – I’ve trained in a wide range of complementary approaches (*you’ll find a summary further down), and co-founded The Big Breath Company, which I ran for over ten years. These days, I run The Breathwork Teachers, delivering workshops, retreats and training here in the UK and overseas.

This work is deeply personal for me. Over 25 years ago, a personal crisis forced me to completely rebuild. It was painful, but also the turning point – where I realised my path was to help others find their own way back to themselves. That’s what’s shaped everything since.

I qualified as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist nearly 15 years ago, and trained as a Breath Facilitator in 2014. Since then, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients on everything from phobias to complex trauma, including sexual abuse. I also spent more than a decade teaching Transformational Breath and leading breathwork events.

I believe we all arrive here with something unique to offer. But we don’t always see it straight away – sometimes it takes things falling apart to help us hear what’s been quietly calling us all along.

Oh – and if you’re interested in the science-y side of how emotions shape the body, I’d recommend looking into the work of Dr Bruce Lipton, Candace Pert, and Deepak Chopra. The mind-body connection is powerful – and I’ve seen therapy help people shift deep physical symptoms more times than I can count.

My Training & Tools

Over the years, I’ve trained in a range of therapies that work with both the mind and body. I don’t believe there’s a one-size-fits-all approach, so I draw from whatever fits the person in front of me. That might include:

  • Cognitive Hypnotherapy – flexible, evidence-based, and great for unpicking deep-seated patterns.

  • Breathwork (Transformational & other modalities) – powerful for releasing stored emotions and shifting energy.

  • Reiki & Energy Work – subtle but surprisingly effective, especially when words fall short.

  • NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) – useful for changing limiting beliefs and reframing unhelpful thought loops.

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) – also known as tapping, often used to reduce anxiety and stress responses.

  • Voice Dialogue & Parts Work – helps uncover and integrate the different aspects of ourselves that often pull us in opposite directions.

  • Somatic Practices – because the body remembers, even when the mind doesn’t.

I regularly blend these approaches depending on what feels right in the moment. You don’t need to know the ins and outs – that’s my job – but if you’re curious about how I work, just ask.
